Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?
I served in the US military. When returning home from a year at an isolated assignment overseas my wife ran to welcome me home safe.
Where can you reduce clutter in your life?
My home office. I keep a lot of files for research I’ve done that only I am interested in. Some I haven’t used in years.
Think back on your most memorable road trip.
I visited Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC and was struck by the thousands that died to secure my freedom.
Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
My bicycle. It was painted gold, had high rise handle bars and a banana seat. I wore it out.
If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?
I actually have a billboard. It is for our local cancer center where I was a patient and now serve as a volunteer. They asked me to be on the billboard.
What is the greatest gift someone could give you?
Their time. It is precious and cannot be taken back once granted.

Community College of the Air Force (AAS), Freed-Hardeman University, Texas State University (BA), Troy University (MS), Theological University of America (DMin).
What are your biggest challenges?
I let my self doubt get in the way.
What relationships have a positive impact on you?
That’s an easy one. My wife. We’ve been together 50 years now and going strong.
How have your political views changed over time?
I’ve gone from conservative to conservative-libertarian.
