Our Story

I spent most of my adult life involved with developing and teaching education and training programs for adults. I enjoy writing, teaching, podcasting, traveling, woodworking, gardening, and volunteering at our local cancer center.
I had the honor of a rewarding career in the United States Air Force. Afterwards I held positions in business and industry, academia, and non-profit organizations developing and managing education and training programs.
Currently my wife Lynne and I travel as members of a mission activity called Sojourners. Sojourners travel throughout the United States helping small churches and other faith based activities with a variety of services. You can learn about the Sojourners at https://sojourning.org.
In 2022 I was given a gift from an unexpected direction when I was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. A year of intense treatment and daily challenges gave me incredible insights into how I could help and encourage those facing challenges to their hope as part of my life focus.
During the period of my recovery I published a book, Journey to Hope to help us better understand the journey we travel from hopeless to hopeful. The book and my research led to my podcast, Our Journey to Hope. Later I began as a volunteer at the cancer center where I received incredible care. This gives me continued opportunities to help others who are finding their hope challenged.
Lynne and I have been together in our journey to hope for 50 years. We have four wonderful daughters, four excellent sons-in-law, and nine incredible granddaughters.
Lynne enjoys being a grandmother, creating and sending beautiful cards that celebrate life and encourages those facing challenges to hope. She enjoys traveling, gardening, and watching birds.
OK…now that you know a bit about us, please tell me about yourself. I’d love to get to come to know you and learn your thoughts on hope. Email me at: info@ourjourneytohope.com
